...and all the colours of the Rainbow!
It’s becoming more important for companies to become ‘greener’ by looking for ways to reduce their impact on the environment. As more customers want evidence of our companies environmental credentials, using recycled products for our print and company literature is a great way of not just saying how green we are, but showing it!
That’s where we come in - whether it is company policy or simply an individual project, whatever your eco-printing needs we can offer you everything from ‘eco-friendly’ through to ‘eco-lover’, providing great quality at fantastically low prices.

Paper Dreams
We offer a wide range of recycled paper and card products ranging from a minimum of 25% recycled content to full 100% post-consumer recycled paper.
If you decide recycled paper does not suit the needs of your project you can take comfort in the fact that all of our papers are FSC guaranteed from the non-coated through to the full coated ranges.
Chlorine free papers are available from unbleached through PCF (Processed Chlorine Free- bleached without using chlorine or chlorine derivatives), ECF (Elemental Chlorine Free –bleached using a chlorine derivative – less harmful than using chlorine but still worse than using no chlorine at all), or TCF (Totally Chlorine Free - no further explanation needed). Simply tell us what you want.
If you don’t like the idea of using trees as the source of your paper –even if it is recycled - then we also offer non-wood based papers. There is a range of non-wood based papers made from agricultural by-products and products like hemp.
Just call us today and we can find the perfect product for you.
Green Inking!
It’s not just the paper that you use that can help make your print eco-friendly; the inks thaapplied can be just as important.
The good news is we use vegetable based inks as standard, rather than the more harmful petroleum based inks. Vegetable based inks utilise a renewable resource and significantly reduce emissions from VOC’s. It also means that we can clean our printing press with water based cleaner rather than high solvent cleaner, further reducing the amount of VOC’s.
These inks are cleaner, brighter and have better smudge resistance than petroleum based inks and are well suited to recycled and non-coated papers.
Where vegetable inks don’t work well is on slow drying paper grades –so for these we switch to mineral based inks.
We re-use all our inks, and we save any special mixes we have made for non-standard jobs. We buy our inks in tins, not small cartridges, meaning there is less packaging, and we recycle all the tins.

Waste not want not
We like to lead by example and have reduced our onsite waste to a minimum in many different ways.
We have installed the latest in pre-press and press technology, with process-less plates meaning we don’t use any chemicals in developing the plates, and we get to running quality in fewer sheets as our make ready settings are computer set in the pre-press stage. In addition we use a very low alcohol fount solution which reduces the VOC’s in the print room.
Alas, it is not possible to be completely waste-free, but we have found ways to make the most of our waste products. Waste, or overs, from previous jobs are used as setter sheets for the next jobs we do; waste that’s between 80-120 gsm is recycled for our everyday office activities so we never use any ‘new’ paper; and all the packaging boxes we receive are reused for our deliveries, and other internal jobs.
Where we do have to wave goodbye to our waste we make sure it is going to be looked after properly, so clean waste paper is sent for recycling; our print plates are recycled by a local metal merchant; waste ink, spirits etc are collected and taken away for careful waste disposal; and if after all that we do have to put anything in our skip we compact it as much as possible, meaning fewer skip loads and therefore fewer harmful carbon miles.
Green (to the) Door
We take so much care about making sure your product is as environmentally friendly as possible it would be foolish to throw all that good work out the window when it came to the final hurdle, so all the packaging we use is eco-friendly, with all the cardboard boxes we using coming from 100% recycled materials. We don’t use plastics or polystyrene in our packaging, and we have yet another use for our waste paper – packing out your boxes to make sure your print does not get damaged in transit.
And finally, when planning our delivery routes we always try to map out our route, taking round trips and dropping off by areas, to reduce our mileage- and subsequently our carbon emissions.
If you think there is any thing else we can do to make our print as green as possible, contact us today – we would love to hear your suggestions.
